OAKLAND: Manaea was excellent in his last outing, allowing just one run on three hits over seven innings in a 9-1 win over the Indians last Tuesday. He punched out eight and walked two in the start, with a Chris Gimenez solo home run in the sixth inning representing the only damage. He’s now 5-8 on the year with a 4.53 ERA and a 1.27 WHIP.
HOUSTON: Musgrove only lasted four innings in his last start, allowing five runs on eight hits in a loss to the Pirates. Pittsburgh recorded six straight hits of the righty to lead off the bottom of the first innings. He did settle in, but allowed a solo home run in the third. He’s now 1-2 on the year with a 5.20 ERA and a 1.23 WHIP.
