Saints vs. Chiefs Prediction
Will the Saints stay within the point spread today at 1:00PM ET when they visit the Chiefs?
According to oddsmakers from online sports book BetDSI, the Chiefs are now 6.5-point home favorites versus the visiting Saints after opening as a 7-point favorite earlier this week. As for the total, the number opened at 50 but has been bet up to 51.5 at the majority of online and Vegas sports books.
Left tackle Terron Armstead is listed as questionable with a knee injury but is expected to play after practicing on a limited basis all week. Andrus Peat, who filled in for Armstead at left tackle the last three games, will sit with a groin injury. The Saints are a perfect 4-0 against the spread in their last four road games and have covered in five of their last seven games overall.
NFL.com’s Ian Rapoport reports that there are doubts that Jamaal Charles will play against the Saints. The running back is questionable with a knee injury and there reportedly is swelling in that surgically-repaired knee. There’s no reason for the Chiefs to push Charles with Spencer Ware emerging as a legitimate every-down back.

OUR PREDICTION: The Chiefs successfully took the air out of the football last week in Oakland, keeping Derek Carr and the Raiders explosive offense off the field for most of the second half. The strategy worked and chances are Andy Reid and Co. will employ a similar game play today against Drew Brees and Sean Payton’s dynamic offense. Speaking of which, Payton’s offense isn’t as explosive on the road as it is on the fast track at the Superdome, so if Kansas City’s defense plays well and the Chiefs can run the ball, they should cover the 6.5-point spread.
