According to oddsmakers from online sports book BetDSI, Northern Iowa opened as a 1-point favorite but the line has already been bet up to 1.5. The Panthers upset Wichita State 57-52 in overtime as a 9-point underdog on Saturday afternoon and has clearly caught the public’s attention, as 66% of wagers are currently on Northern Iowa to cover vs. Evansville today.
But despite their struggles in their opening game versus Missouri State, the Purple Aces got it together in a 68-42 rout over Indiana State last night. Marty Simmons’ squad is also in a revenge spot today, as Northern Iowa beat the Purple Aces 54-52 at Evansville to close out the regular season.
