Thunder hot, but will Hornets cover Saturday?
The Thunder are red-hot but there’s still value in taking the Hornets as a home underdog tonight at 7:00PM ET.
According to oddsmakers from online sports book Mybookie.ag, the Thunder is a 7-point road favorite for tonight’s game while the over/under currently sits at 208.5 points. OKC enters play with a 23-10 record but is just 13-20 against the spread, while Charlotte is 17-15 overall and 15-16-1 at the betting window.
The Thunder has owned the Hornets and will look to defeat Charlotte for the 10th consecutive time tonight. Four of those wins have come on the road for OKC, which won its two meetings last season with the Hornets by an average margin of 15 points. The Thunder has also won 12 of its last 14 games while the Hornets have lost seven of their last 10.
The recent numbers don’t paint a pretty picture for Charlotte but the point spread still seems a tad inflated. As a home underdog this season, the Hornets are just 3-3-1 against the spread but they won by an average margin of 3.4 points in those seven games. Plus as a home team this season, Charlotte is 9-9-1 ATS and has won by an average of 5.8 points.
