The Dodgers ended their 11-game losing streak Tuesday night with a 5-3 triumph over the Giants. Los Angeles is now 2-1 over the last 18 games when Clayton Kershaw starts, while it is 0-15 in games not started by Kershaw. Chris Taylor was 2-for-5 with two runs to lead the Dodgers, while Cody Bellinger was 2-for-2 with a walk and three runs. Yasiel Puig finished 2-for-5 with a pair of doubles and two RBIs. Kershaw allowed two runs (one earned) over six innings and struck out six to get the win. Kenley Jansen earned his 37th save, notching a strikeout with the bases loaded in the ninth inning. Denard Span was 2-for-2 with a double and a run off the bench for the Giants. Joe Panik went 3-for-5, while Hunter Pence was 3-for-5 with a run and an RBI. Austin Slater was 2-for-4. Kelby Tomlinson went 2-for-2 with the third home run of his career. Johnny Cueto gave up four earned runs over 3/2 innings to take the loss.
There is no reason the Dodgers shouldn’t get hot again. Too much talent on the roster. Darvish has pitched with a lot of bad luck this season and those kind of things tend to even out over time. We’re going to say Los Angeles wins convincingly tonight as it begins to trend in the right direction again.
