Ketel Marte helped lead the Diamondbacks offense as he ended the game 2-for-4 with a home run, a walk, two runs scored and three RBIs. Carson Kelly went 2-for-3 with a solo home run, a walk and two runs. Wilmer Flores was 1-for-4 with a double and an RBI. Merrill Kelly suffered the loss as he allowed seven earned runs on seven hits with our strikeouts and two walks over six innings of work. Taylor Clarke draws the start tonight for Arizona as he comes in with a 3-3 record, 6.10 ERA and 1.53 WHIP with 39 strikeouts over 51 2/3 innings.
Yankees avoid four-game sweep
New York won its series finale 9-6 at Boston Sunday night to keep from being swept in the four-game series. Austin Romine helped pace the offensive effort as he went 1-for-4 with a home run and two RBIs. Didi Gregorius finished 1-for-4 with a home run, a walk and two RBIs. Cameron Maybin completed the contest 2-for-3 with a double, a walk, two runs and an RBI. Domingo German picked up the win as he allowed three earned runs on four hits with nine strikeouts and one walk over 5 1/3 innings. J.A. Happ gets the start tonight for the Yankees as he comes in with an 8-5 record, 5.23 ERA and 1.34 WHIP with 87 strikeouts over 103 1/3 innings pitched.

Expect New York’s array of power hitters to frustrate the rookie Clarke and send the hosts to a victory. I’m actually going with the runline here as I think the Yankees ease to the win.
