Astros vs. A’s Prediction
Can the Astros pick up their fifth straight win when they visit the A’s again today at 4:05PM ET?
According to oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv, the Astros are -104 on the money line to beat the A’s, who have odds of -106 to win this afternoon. Charlie Morton will face Jharel Cotton in the pitching matchup and with that, the over/under currently sits at 8 runs.

ASTROS KEY TRENDS: The Astros have won four consecutive games and are 4-0 in their last four road games as well. They’re also 4-0 in their last four games versus American League West rivals, are 5-0 in their last five games versus a right-handed starter, and have won five of seven games coming off a win.
A’S KEY TRENDS: The A’s have dropped 17 of their last 25 games overall, are 17-35 in their last 52 games versus American League West opponents, and are 3-12 in their last 15 home games. That said, they’re 5-2 in Cotton’s last seven starts overall.
Bet Today’s Astros vs. A’s Game
OUR PICK: Cotton tossed seven scoreless innings in Monday’s 2-0 win over the Royals, allowing just two hits and three walks with six strikeouts. That said, the effort came against a Kansas City offense that has been lackluster to start the season. Cotton also allowed five earned runs on eight hits in a loss to the Angels in his debut. Morton isn’t a dominant pitcher but I like Houston’s offense to do just enough damage vs. Cotton for the Astros to complete their sweep.
