According to oddsmakers, the Mariners are favored at home, as they are getting odds of -135 to win. Orioles drop opener

Baltimore has lost nine straight games following the 5-2 loss to the Mariners on Thursday night. The Orioles are 21-54 on the season, 12-26 on the road and 36-36 with the over/under total. Baltimore has not named the starter for the game.

The Orioles continued their struggles at the plate on Thursday. Baltimore put up two runs in the first and didn’t score the rest of the game. The Orioles finished with just four hits. Rio Ruiz had a two-run double in the first to lead the team at the plate. On the mound, Dylan Bundy allowed four runs over 5.1 innings to fall to 3-9 on the season.

Mariners looking for back-to-back wins

Seattle hasn’t been able to string together wins for a while and they are coming off the 5-2 win over the Orioles on Thursday. The Mariners are 33-46 on the season, 19-22 on the road and 52-24 with the over. Seattle has Mike Leake taking the mound tonight. He is 6-6 on the season with a 4.14 ERA.

Wade LeBlanc pitched 6.1 scoreless innings on Thursday night to improve to 4-2 on the year. Roenis Elias got the save with a perfect ninth inning. At the plate, Domingo Santana had a solo home run, his 16th of the year. Kyle Seager added two RBI while Omar Narvaez had two hits and scored two runs.

MLB Betting Trends

Baltimore

The Orioles are 19-59 in their last 78 road games and 13-42 in their last 55 games overall.

Seattle

The Mariners are just 4-10 in their last 14 home games, but 7-1 in Leake’s last eight home starts against a team with a losing record.

Prediction:

While the Orioles haven’t named a starter, it isn’t likely to be someone too reliable. Baltimore doesn’t have much for pitching at the starting position or in the bullpen. Leake has won his last three decisions and has gone at least seven innings in four straight starts. He shouldn’t have a problem at home against these Baltimore hitters. I like the Mariners to pick up another win.

MLB Prediction: Seattle Mariners -135
