The Orioles actually had a good day at the plate on Friday, posting nine runs on 14 hits. However, the pitching couldn’t come through. Sean Gilmartin took the loss as he allowed five runs over 2.1 innings. Branden Kline then gave up four runs in two innings of relief work. At the plate, Baltimore was led by Pedro Severino had three hits, three RBI and two runs. Dwight Smith Jr. had three hits with two runs while Chance Sisco had two hits and two RBI.

Mike Leake got his seventh win of the season despite pitching poorly. He went 5.1 innings, allowing seven earned runs with 11 hits and two strikeouts. Roenis Elias got his ninth save of the season with a perfect ninth inning. At the plate, J.P. Crawford had three hits and drove in two runs while Kyle Seager and Domingo Santana each drove in a pair of run.

The Orioles can’t get themselves on track and I think the struggles will continue today. Milone has given up 11 earned runs over 32.2 innings with just five walks and 32 strikeouts. The Orioles aren’t a team that are going to put up nine runs often. Cashner is actually one of their better pitchers, but the Baltimore bullpen is still a dumpster fire.
