Orioles fall at Tampa
The Orioles have lost three of their last four and six of their last nine after a series loss at Tampa Bay this week. Baltimore is now 25-61 on the season, 14-30 on the road and 44-37 with the over. The O’s have Dylan Bundy getting the start tonight. He is 3-10 on the season with a 4.91 ERA.
Baltimore has the league’s worst pitching staff, as they post a 5.75 team ERA with a 1.49 team WHIP. They also have the league’s worst strikeout total at 658. At the plate, Baltimore is putting up 4.21 runs per game while hitting .241 as a team. Renato Nunez is leading the team with 16 doubles, 19 home runs and 47 RBI while Trey Mancini has 19 doubles, 17 home runs and 40 RBI.
Blue Jays bouncing around
Toronto has alternated wins and losses over their last six games and are coming off an 8-7 loss at home over the Red Sox. The Blue Jays are now 33-55 overall, 17-28 at home and 45-40 with the over. Toronto has Aaron Sanchez getting the start today. He is 3-11 on the year with a 6.31 ERA.
The Blue Jays are near the bottom of the league in both hitting and pitching. On the mound, Toronto has a 4.97 team ERA with a 1.46 team WHIP. Offensively, Toronto is putting up 4.38 runs per game with a .234 batting average. Freddy Galvis is leading the team with 18 doubles, 15 home runs and 44 RBI. Rowdy Tellez is adding 12 doubles, 14 home runs and 39 RBI.
MLB Betting Trends
Baltimore
The Orioles are 10-41 in their last 51 series opener and 35-105 in their last 140 road games.
Toronto
The Blue Jays are 1-5 in their last six Friday games and 3-10 in their last 13 home games against a right-handed starter.
Prediction:
Both teams have struggled all season and they have split their six meetings with each other this year. Bundy has been struggling for the Orioles. They have lost six of his last seven starts and he has given up at least three runs in seven straight starts. Sanchez hasn’t been any better, giving up at least four runs in six straight starts and 28 runs over his last 15 innings of work. Sanchez has been a dumpster fire right now and Baltimore actually has had a few breakout games at the plate. I think that can happen tonight while Bundy gives up a few runs.
MLB Prediction: Baltimore Orioles +115
