Marlins vs. Dodgers Prediction
Is the under the smart play today in L.A., where the Dodgers will host the Marlins at 4:10PM ET?
According to oddsmakers from online sports book BetDSI, the Dodgers are -200 money line favorites versus the Marlins, who have odds of +180 to pull off the upset in Los Angeles. With Vance Worley set to face Brandon McCarthy in the pitching matchup, the over/under currently sits at 9 runs.

The Marlins recalled Worley from Triple-A New Orleans. He’s getting the start Sunday against the Dodgers. The 29-year-old journeyman hasn’t been overly impressive in the minors this year, contributing a 2-5 record with a 4.43 ERA in eight starts for New Orleans. The Vanimal has compiled a 3.89 ERA in 85 big league starts. (Rotoworld)
McCarthy was tagged for six runs in 5 2/3 innings by the Giants in his return from the disabled list Monday. McCarthy was quite sharp before hurting his non-throwing shoulder, but the Giants found plenty of holes against him, scratching out eight hits, including four in a row during a four-run fourth inning. Only one of those hits, a Brandon Crawford double, went for extra bases, and McCarthy walked only one batter. FIP, at least, would say he had a nice outing.
Bet Today’s Marlins vs. Dodgers Game
OUR PREDICTION: These two teams have been playing over the total of late, but the under has been a great play when McCarthy toes the rubber for the Dodgers. The under is 8-1 in McCarthy’s last nine starts when their opponent allows five runs or more in their previous game. The under has also hit in eight of McCarthy’s last 10 outings after scoring five runs or more in their previous contest and is 6-2 in his last eight starts against a team with a losing record.
