The Milwaukee Brewers faltered in the late innings last night at the Colorado Rockies to cost themselves a chance to pull even in the NL Central race. Can Milwaukee win today and get some help to force a one-game playoff Monday afternoon for the NL Central title?

Brewers fall in 10 innings

Milwaukee blew a 2-0 lead Saturday night at Colorado as he gave up one run in both the eighth and ninth inning before falling 3-2 in 10 innings. Matt Albers took the loss as he gave up a home run to the only batter he faced. Eric Thames helped lead the Brewers offense as he finished 1-for-4 with a solo home run. Lorenzo Cain went 2-for-3 with a double and a walk before leaving the game with an injury. Orlando Arcia was 2-for-4 with a double and an RBI. Adrian Houser will start today for Milwaukee as he enters with a 6-7 record, 3.86 ERA and 1.27 WHIP plus 112 strikeouts over 107 1/3 innings pitched.

Story hits walk-off homer

Trevor Story completed the rally for Colorado at home Saturday night as he hit a walk-off home run to give the hosts a 3-2 victory over Milwaukee. Story finished the game 2-for-4 with the solo homer plus a double. Sam Hilliard was 1-for-1 with a pinch-hit solo homer. Ian Desmond ended the contest 2-for-4 with a solo home run plus a triple. Jumbo Diaz threw a perfect inning of relief with no strikeouts to pick up the win. Jeff Hoffman gets the start today for the Rockies as he comes in with a 2-6 record, 6.78 ERA and 1.63 WHIP plus 64 strikeouts over 65 innings of work.

MLB Betting Trends

Milwaukee

The Brewers are 4-0 in their last four Sunday games. Milwaukee is 21-6 in its last 27 games overall.

Colorado

The Rockies are 1-4 in their last five Sunday games. Colorado is 1-4 in the last five Hoffman home starts.

Prediction:

While the Brewers will play this game with the importance of an NL Central division race on the line, they are already in an NL Wild Card Game regardless and know that the Cardinals are huge favorites today against the Cubs. Colorado seems to be enjoying playing a spoiler of sorts and are at home, so I think the Rockies give another outstanding effort today and win as the underdogs.
