Latest from Rotoworld: Teheran allowed seven earned runs over five innings but got a win Sunday versus the Reds. Teheran surrendered 11 hits and walked two, but Reds starter Amir Garrett was even worse in the afternoon slugfest at Great American Ball Park. Teheran now stands 5-4 on the season with a 5.40 ERA. He’ll face the Mets at home in his next scheduled start.
Roark allowed three runs on three hits over seven innings while taking a no-decision in Sunday’s win over the A’s. Roark looked like he was well on his way to a victory, here, but a game-tying two-run homer surrendered to Khris Davis in the seventh inning derailed that possibility. For the season as a whole, Roark holds a 3.86 ERA and 1.22 WHIP through 10 starts. He will carry those numbers into a home showdown with the Rangers next time out. Jun
Bet Today’s Braves vs. Nationals Game
OUR PREDICTION: Teheran has been horrendous this season, posting high walk rates and low strikeout numbers. The Nationals don’t have a ton of left-handers in their lineup (and Teheran has been destroyed by left-handed hitters this season), but they do have Bryce Harper and Daniel Murphy. Over his career, Harper is 15-for-33 with seven home runs and three doubles versus Teheran. The Braves’ bats have also been hot and even if Roark pitches well, the Nationals’ bullpen is a mess so Atlanta should score plenty as well.
