Nationals vs. Marlins Prediction
Are the Nationals a safe bet to beat the Marlins behind Max Scherzer today at 12:10PM ET?
According to oddsmakers from online sports book BetDSI, the Nationals are -150 money line favorites versus the Marlins, who have odds of +135 to pull off the upset at home. With Scherzer set to face Dan Straily in the pitching matchup, the over/under currently sits at 8 runs, down from 8.5.

From Rotoworld: Scherzer limited the Mets to one run in eight innings and struck out 10 in a victory Friday. Scherzer has eight 10-strikeout games this year. He’s given up more than three runs just once in 14 starts, that coming on April 28 against the Mets. It looks like it’s going to be one heck of a Cy Young race in the NL if he and Clayton Kershaw stay healthy.
Straily allowed four hits over 6 1/3 innings and combined with three relievers on a shutout of the Braves on Friday. Straily struck out eight and walked none. Another manager would have let him try to complete seven at 91 pitches, but the Marlins’ plan all along has been to ride their pen this year. Straily improved to 5-4 with a 3.58 ERA. He’s struck out 80 in 78 innings.
Bet Today’s Nationals vs. Marlins Game
OUR PREDICTION: The Nationals have won five of Scherzer’s last six starts against the Marlins and have won four of his last five outings on the road versus Miami. The Nationals are also 5-2 in their last seven games against the Marlins, are 12-4 in their last 16 road games, and are 23-7 in Scherzer’s last 30 road starts. I love the price on Washington today with Scherzer on the hill.
