Latest on Lynn via Rotoworld: Lynn allowed just one run, two hits and two walks while striking out 10 batters over eight innings in a no-decision Tuesday at the L.A. Dodgers. Lynn threw 76 of his 123 pitches for strikeouts, matching Clayton Kershaw pitch for pitch in an exciting game from Dodger Stadium. He has posted quality starts in six of the past seven outings, lowering his ERA from 5.23 to 2.53 during the span. He’ll look to snap his three-game winless drought when the Cardinals travel to Denver to face the Rockies on Sunday.
Marquez held the Phillies to one run over six innings to win Tuesday. Marquez has allowed two runs over 19 innings in his last three starts. It’s going to be awfully difficult to take him out of the rotation after Jon Gray returns next month. He’s 3-2 with a 3.86 ERA
Bet Today’s Cardinals vs. Rockies Game
OUR PREDICTION: The Cardinals have won five of Lynn’s last seven starts, are 5-1 in his last six outings following a Quality Start in his last appearance, and are 4-1 in his last five outings coming off four days of rest in between. Following their victory last night, St. Louis has also taken five of its last seven games in Denver as well. With Lynn coming off an excellent outing and perhaps Marquez due for a clunker, the Cards are worth a flier as an underdog.
