Blue Jays vs. Mariners Pick
Can the Seattle Mariners take care of business at home once again tonight when they host the Toronto Blue Jays at 10:10PM ET?
According to oddsmakers at BetDSI, the Blue Jays are favored on the road, as they are getting odds of -115 to win. The Mariners are listed with a money line of +105 to win, while the over/under total for the contest has been set at 8.5 runs.

The pitching matchup today has Ariel Miranda (6-2, 3.74 ERA) on the mound for Seattle to face Marcus Stroman (6-2, 3.25) of the Blue Jays. The Jays have been strong with Stroman, winning his last six starts. He has allowed 27 earned runs over 74.2 innings with 60 strikeouts and 20 walks. His WHIP is 1.31. Miranda has been great as well, allowing just seven earned runs over his last five starts. He has 61 strikeouts and 24 walks over 67.1 innings and a WHIP of 1.17.
Seattle picked up a 4-2 win on Friday to open the series. The home team has won six straight meetings between these two, including all five games this year. The Mariners are 31-31 overall and 20-11 at home while the Blue Jays are 29-32 overall and 12-18 on the road.
The Blue Jays racked up 10 hits on Friday, but produced just two runs. They stranded eight baserunners in the loss, not aiding Joe Biagini. He went 7 innings and allowed just three runs on five hits, but took the loss. Sam Gaviglio pitched six innings, allowing two runs and six hits. He didn’t take a decision. Ben Gamel and Jarrod Dyson each had two hits in the win for Seattle while Jose Bautista homered for the Blue Jays, his 11th of the season.
The oddsmakers seem to like Toronto in this series, making the Jays the favorite for the second straight game. However, I think Seattle will be just fine. The Mariners have been a strong team at home and are putting up a solid pitcher in Miranda, who has had a great month. The Blue Jays have not been successful on the road all season. While Stroman has led them to many wins, I don’t see him getting much run support tonight like Biagini didn’t get on Friday.
