Rays vs. Indians Pick
Can the Cleveland Indians and Tampa Bay Rays find enough runs to hit the over tonight at 6:10PM ET?
According to oddsmakers at BetDSI, the Indians are the clear favorite of today’s game, as they are getting odds of -155 to win. The Rays are listed with a money line of +145 to win, while the over/under total has been set at 7.5 runs.

Today’s pitching matchup is a good one, as Chris Archer (3-1, 3.04 ERA) takes the mound for the Rays to face Carlos Carrasco (4-2, 1.86) of the Indians. Carrasco is coming off another scoreless outing, going 7 innings with seven strikeouts against the Jays last week. He now has 46 strikeouts with only eight walks and a WHIP of 0.77. Archer had his best outing last week, going 8 scoreless, allowing just five hits with 11 strikeouts in a 12-1 win over the Royals. He has 22 strikeouts in his last two starts. He also has 59 for the season and a WHIP of 1.13.
Tampa is coming off a big series win at Boston this weekend. The Rays won two of three games and are now 19-21 overall and 7-11 on the road. They are also 23-17 with the over. They are averaging 4.5 runs per game while allowing 4.18. Corey Dickerson has a .340 average, 12 doubles, six home runs and 13 RBI to lead the team right now while Logan Morrison has 10 homers with 24 RBI.
Cleveland suffered a series loss to the Twins at home this weekend and the Indians have dropped three of their last four games. The Indians are now 19-17 overall, 7-8 at home and 23-11 with the under. Cleveland is putting up 4.22 runs per game while allowing just 3.86. Francisco Lindor is hitting .282 with eight home runs and 20 RBI while Jose Ramirez has six homers with 24 RBI.
With this pitching matchup, I see both teams struggling at the plate. Archer and Carrasco should be getting a lot of bats to miss. Carrasco can also hand the ball over to a great bullpen. While Archer may not have the same luxury, he should go deep enough to where that won’t impact the total too much. Expect a low-scoring game tonight as both pitchers dominate.
