Rotoworld on Chavez: Chavez surrendered two runs on three hits over 5 2/3 innings in Wednesday’s loss to the A’s. Chavez struck out five and walked one on the afternoon. Both runs on his line scored when he coughed up a two-run home run to Chad Pinder with nobody out in the fifth inning. The veteran right-hander has pitched to a 4.29 ERA and 1.29 WHIP through seven starts (eight total appearances).
Milone gave up five runs over 5 2/3 innings of work on Tuesday in Arizona. Milone retired the first six batters he faced, but things got hairy in a hurry in the third as he gave up three hits, two walks and three runs. He then served up a solo shot to Yasmany Tomas to lead off the fifth. Milone was decent in his first outing with the Mets and he’ll get some more chances with the club’s injuries.
Bet Today’s Angels vs. Mets Game
OUR PREDICTION: The Angels have dropped six of seven on the road and four straight against National League competition. They’re also just 2-5 in Chavez’s last seven starts and 0-5 in his last five outings when their opponent allows five runs or more in its previous game. On the other side, the Mets have won four of five at home, are a perfect 6-0 in interleague home games, and are 4-0 in their last four games versus American League West competition.
