From Rotoworld: Garcia struck out nine over seven innings while taking the loss in Sunday’s defeat at the hands of the Mets. Garcia scattered seven hits and walked two over his seven innings of work. While he pitched well enough for the win, solitary runs allowed in the first and third innings proved enough for the Mets to deny him victory in what ended as a 2-1 game in New York’s favor. Garcia has pitched well overall this season and will carry a 3.16 ERA and 1.23 WHIP into a home start against the Marlins when he next toes the rubber.
Locke allowed three runs on eight hits over 5 1/3 innings in Sunday’s loss to the Pirates. Locke surrendered a two-run double to Elias Diaz in the first inning. He would allow one more in the sixth inning before exiting stage left. The 29-year-old southpaw will carry a 4.02 ERA and 1.28 WHIP into a road start against the Braves next time he takes to the mound.
Bet Today’s Marlins vs. Braves Game
OUR PREDICTION: This is a good spot to jump on the underdog Marlins. They’re 6-2 in their last eight games overall, are 5-0 in their last five divisional games, and have won four of their last five games in Atlanta. Meanwhile, the Braves are winless at 0-4 in their last four home games, are 1-4 in Garcia’s last five starts, and are 0-4 in his last four outings versus NL East competition. Garcia has pitched well this season, but the value in Miami is too great to pass up.
