From Rotoworld: Anderson earned his third victory of the season on Friday, striking out seven in six innings of two-run ball against the Reds. Anderson scattered just four hits and a pair of walks in the ballgame. He allowed a solo homer to Eugenio Suarez in the fourth inning and an RBI single in the sixth, but that was the extent of the damage against him. While his 6.00 ERA and 1.42 WHIP look rough on the surface, he does own a 49/16 K/BB ratio across 48 innings on the year.
Velasquez coughed up five runs in 5 1/3 innings and was charged with a loss to the Pirates on Saturday. He was looking good in the early going, giving up just two runs in the first five frames. Things changed in the sixth and he surrendered three more before being relieved. By the time the dust cleared he had allowed seven base hits and two walks while striking out six. He went 2-for-2 at the plate and owns a .313 batting average on the season. Velasquez has struggled to a 5.98 ERA through eight starts. He has racked up 45 strikeouts in 43 2/3 innings but has issued too many walks (20) and given up too many home runs (nine) to be an effective starting pitcher.
