Latest on Paxton via Rotoworld: Paxton allowed four earned runs, eight hits and three walks with just three strikeouts over four innings in a loss Sunday against the Blue Jays. Paxton allowed a double to Kevin Pillar to start the game, and he served up a two-run homer to Josh Donaldson to fall behind 2-0 after just two batters. It was a rare poor outing for Paxton, who was attempting to become the eighth starting pitching in franchise history to win his first six decisions of the season.
Ross (shoulder) is tentatively scheduled to make his Rangers debut on Friday versus the Mariners. Manager Jeff Banister hedged his bets and wouldn’t fully commit to Ross on Friday, but all signs point to it happening. Ross posted a 7.71 ERA and 11/11 K/BB ratio over 18 2/3 frames in his four rehab starts and allowed eight runs in his last outing, so he’s not a recommended fantasy option for the time being.
