Phillies vs. Cardinals Prediction
Will the Phillies hand the Cardinals their eighth consecutive loss when the two teams meet tonight at Busch Stadium at 8:15PM ET?
According to oddsmakers from online sports book BetDSI, the Cardinals are -180 money line favorites versus the Phillies, who have odds of +148 to pull off the upset in St. Louis. With Jeremy Hellickson set to face Michael Wacha in the pitching matchup, the over/under currently sits at 9 runs.

From Rotoworld: Hellickson wasn’t at his best on Sunday, giving up five runs (three earned) on four hits over 5 1/3 innings in a no-decision against the Giants. Hellickson walked four and struck out four in the ballgame. He was chased from the game after allowing a two-run homer to Brandon Crawford in the sixth. Even with the uneven performance though, he left in line for the victory but the Phillies’ bullpen was unable to protect it for him. The right-hander will carry a 4.50 ERA and 1.20 WHIP into Friday’s start against the Cardinals in St. Louis.
Wacha struggled in a no-decision against the Cubs on Sunday night, allowing six runs on six hits over 4 1/3 innings of work. The right-hander also issued four free passes while striking out five. He held the Cubs to just a solo homer from Ian Happ through the first three innings, but they broke the game open with a five-run uprising in the fourth that included a three-run homer from Happ. The maddeningly inconsistent Wacha will bring a 4.67 ERA and 1.41 WHIP into Friday’s start against the Phillies.
Bet Tonight’s Phillies vs. Cardinals Game
OUR PREDICTION: The Phillies have dropped six of their last seven games in St. Louis and are 1-4 in their last five games versus the Cardinals overall. Philadelphia has also dropped 28 of 38 games overall, 36 of 51 road games, and is 3-14 in its last 17 road games versus a team with a losing record. The Cardinals, meanwhile, are undefeated at 7-0 in their last seven games versus National League East opponents. After making some changes with their coaching staff earlier today, I like the Cardinals to finally snap their losing streak tonight.
