From Rotoworld: Leake surrendered five earned runs over 6 2/3 innings Saturday in a loss to the Cubs. Leake gave up a solo homer to Javier Baez in the bottom of the third inning and a go-ahead grand slam to Kyle Schwarber in the bottom of the seventh. It was the worst outing of the season for Leake, at least from a runs-allowed perspective, and he still holds a shiny 2.64 ERA over 75 total innings. The right-hander will look to bounce back next week against the Reds.
Feldman gave up five runs — four earned — in 4 1/3 innings and took a no-decision against the Braves on Saturday. He was sailing along through the first four innings but gave up the ghost in the fifth. He coughed up five runs in that frame with the big blow being a grand slam by Matt Adams. Feldman surrendered seven hits and three walks in the ballgame and registered only one strikeout. He is 4-4 with a 4.52 ERA and 1.37 WHIP in 12 starts.
Bet Today’s Cardinals vs. Reds Game
OUR PREDICTION: The Cardinals are 0-6 on the road over their last six games and 0-5 in their last five games overall. They’re also 1-4 in Leake’s last five starts and have dropped five of his last seven outings following a team loss in their previous game. On the other side, the Reds are 8-2 in their last 10 home games versus a team with a losing record and are 9-4 in their last 13 home games versus a right-handed starter.
