Mariners vs. Astros Pick
Will the Houston Astros have any trouble scoring runs when they take on the Seattle Mariners tonight at 8:10PM ET?
According to oddsmakers at BetDSI, the Astros are favored at home tonight, as they are getting odds of -225 to win. The Mariners have a money line of +205 to win, while the over/under total for the game has been set at 9 runs. These two have hit the under in six of their last 10 meetings this season while Houston has won seven of the 10 games.

The pitching matchup tonight has Ariel Miranda (7-4, 4.15 ERA) pitching for the Mariners to face Lance McCullers Jr. (7-2, 3.05) of the Astros. Miranda is coming off one of his worst outings of the season, allowing six earned runs in five innings against the Royals. He has 80 strikeouts with 37 walks this season and a 1.15 WHIP. McCullers is also coming off one of his worst outings, allowing five earned runs in 4.1 innings against the Blue Jays. McCullers has 106 strikeouts with 27 walks and a 1.14 WHIP.
Seattle has won four straight coming into today and the Mariners have hit the under in four of their last five games. Seattle is now 46-47 overall, 19-25 on the road and 45-44 with the under. The Mariners have scored 4.80 runs per game while allowing 4.80 per game as well. Seattle is being led by Nelson Cruz, who has 19 home runs with 73 RBI while Robinson Cano has 18 home runs with 63 RBI.
Houston has won three of its last four while hitting the under in their last two games. The Astros are now 62-30 overall and 29-19 at home while going 48-37 with the over. Houston is putting up 5.91 runs per game while allowing 4.10. Carlos Correa is leading the Astros with 20 home runs, 66 RBI and a .321 average. George Springer is adding 27 home runs and 62 RBI.
Both pitchers are coming off a bad outing against a relatively poor hitting team, but I would expect both pitchers to bounce back today. McCullers hasn’t allowed many runs and consistently keeps the bases clear. Miranda is similar, as his WHIP is right there with McCullers. Because both pitchers tend to avoid many baserunners, I see the under hitting tonight. I don’t see Seattle having much success at the plate and Houston isn’t likely to blow the game open.
