Blue Jays vs. Athletics Pick
Can the Oakland Athletics find a way to best the Toronto Blue Jays when the two meet up tonight at 10:05PM ET?
According to oddsmakers at BetDSI, the Blue Jays are favored on the road, as they are getting odds of -130 to win. Oakland is listed with a money line of +120 to prevail, while the over/under total for the game is set at 8 runs.

Today’s pitching matchup has Jesse Hahn (1-4, 3.81 ERA) of the Athletics on the mound to face Marco Estrada (4-3, 3.86) of the Blue Jays. Estrada is coming off a poor outing against the Yankees. He allowed 7 runs in 3.2 innings. He has 82 strikeouts over 72.1 innings and a WHIP of 1.20. Hahn is also coming off a shorting outing, where he allowed 5 runs in 2 innings of work. He has 41 strikeouts and 18 walks over 49.2 innings pitched. His WHIP on the season is 1.29.
Oakland took the first game in the series on Monday night with a 5-3 win at home. The home team has won five of the last six meetings between these two. Oakland is now 25-32 overall and 17-12 at home while Toronto is 28-30 overall and 11-16 on the road.
The Athletics got the win on Monday thanks to the bat of Ryon Healy, who had a pair of home runs and drove in all five runs. His hitting allowed Sean Manaea to pick up his fifth win. He allowed just two runs in six innings and had seven strikeouts. J.A. Happ failed to get his first win of the year, falling to 0-4 on the season after allowing all five runs in 5.1 innings.
Bet on Blue Jays vs. Athletics
Oakland managed a nice win at home over the hot-and-cold Blue Jays on Monday, but I am not sure they can do it again tonight. Healy isn’t likely to hit two home runs again and give Oakland all their run support. Toronto has more reliable hitting options and I think Estrada is the more reliable of the two starters as well. Look for Toronto to pick up the road win.
