The pitching matchup tonight has Doug Fister on the mound for the Rangers to face Sean Manaea of the Athletics. Fister earned a win in his first start, beating the Astros. He allowed just four hits and one run with seven strikeouts.

PUBLIC BETTING INFORMATION

The public is backing the Athletics tonight. Oakland is getting 53 percent of the wagers for this game as the favorite at home against the Rangers.

KEY INJURIES

The Rangers have a lot of pitchers listed on the injury report for today’s game and outfield Delino DeShields is on the DL after suffering a fractured bone in his left hand. Oakland has nobody new on the injury list.

BETTING STRATEGIES

Oakland took the first game in the series, 3-1, before Texas responded on Tuesday with a 4-1 victory. Cole Hamels got his first win of the season, pitching five innings with 11 strikeouts while allowing the lone run. Joey Gallo had his second home run of the season to lead the Rangers while Rougned Odor had two hits and two RBI while Nomar Mazar had two hits and scored two runs.

Kendall Graveman suffered the loss for Oakland. He had another rough outing, allowing four runs on eight hits over five innings. Chad Pinder led the Athletics at the plate with a double and a home run.

Pitching has been the key in both games as neither team has been lighting it up at the plate. Manaea had a strong outing against the Angels last week and I think he can build off that at home against the Rangers. Fister did beat the Astros, but he didn’t work late into the game and that could be a problem tonight after the Rangers used three bullpen arms last night.
