Finnegan allowed just one hit and one walk while striking out nine over seven shutout innings in Wednesday’s 2-0 win over the Phillies. Both the hit and the walk came in the first inning and then Finnegan retired 19 straight batters to close out his night. While it’s early, perhaps this will be the 23-year-old’s breakout season.
Glasnow was set to make his season debut on Saturday gainst the Braves, but Thursday’s rainout threw a wrench in the works so the highly-touted pitching prospect had to wait until today. In seven games last season, Glasnow finished with a 4.24 ERA while striking out 24 batters and walking 13.
