Can the Cleveland Indians avoid being upset at home again by the Cincinnati Reds when the two meet at 6:10PM ET?
According to oddsmakers at Bovada.lv, the Indians are the clear favorite at home, as they are getting odds of -200 to win, while the Reds are listed with odds of +170 to prevail. The over/under total for the game is set at 9.5 runs.

Today’s pitching matchup has Mike Clevinger (2-1, 1.56 ERA) on the mound for the Indians to face Tim Adleman (2-2, 6.19) of the Reds. Adleman has six starts this year. He has pitched a total of 32 innings, allowing 22 earned runs with 12 walks and 30 strikeouts. His WHIP this season is 1.47. Clevinger has started three games this year. He is coming off a 7-inning, 2-hit performance last week. He has pitched 17.1 innings, allowing just three earned runs with 11 walks and 19 strikeouts. His WHIP is 0.98.
These two are closing out a four-game series, two games at each location, today. The Reds have won two of the three meetings thus far, including a 4-3 win on Wednesday. Cleveland is now 24-21 overall and 8-11 at home while Cincinnati is 22-24 overall and 8-11 on the road.
The Reds rallied in the ninth to pick up Wednesday’s 4-3 win. Cody Allen blew his first save of the year, allowing two runs on three hits in the ninth inning. The pair of runs came on a two-run single by Zack Cozart. After Lisalverto Bonilla gave up three runs in five innings, the Cincy bullpen pitched four scoreless innings to secure the victory. Carlos Santana led Cleveland with three hits and three RBI.
The Reds have made this series very challenging for Cleveland. Even in the win the Indians had, it was just by one run. Cleveland comes into today just 1-8 in their last 9 interleague games and 0-4 in Clevinger’s last four starts on four days of rest. Cincinnati has won 4 of Adleman’s last 5 starts against a winning team, so it’s worth the risk to play the underdog today. Cleveland has yet to show is the clearly better team in this series, so their odds are too high for my liking.
