Royals vs. Rays Pick
Will the Kansas City Royals and Tampa Bay Rays struggle to find the runs when the two meet up tonight at 7:10PM ET?
According to oddsmakers at BetDSI, the Rays are favored at home, as they are getting odds of -150 to win, while the Royals are getting odds of +130 to win. The over/under total for the game is listed at 8 runs.

The Royals will have Nate Karns (1-2, 4.97 ERA) on the mound to face Blake Snell (0-2, 3.45) of the Rays. Snell hasn’t been getting deep into games, but he has been good at limiting the run damage. He has went just 5 innings in each of his last four starts, but has allowed just 8 runs total in those four games. However, he does have 21 walks to just 27 strikeouts. Karns is coming off a 6-inning, 1-hit performance last week against the White Sox. He has just a 1.21 WHIP this season with 26 strikeouts this year.
Kansas City’s struggles have continued following a series loss at home to the Indians. They were held to just four runs in three games. The Royals are 10-20 overall, 2-11 on the road and 19-9 with the under. KC puts up just 2.73 runs per game while allowing 4.03. As a team, the Royals are hitting just .208 this season. Eric Hosmer is hitting .268 with 13 RBI and three home runs while Mike Moustakas has seven home runs and 12 RBI.
The Rays are coming off a series loss at home to the Blue Jays. Tampa has fallen to 16-17 overall and 11-7 at home. They also are 17-16 with the over this season. The Rays are averaging 42.4 runs per game while allowing 4.06. Tampa is led by Corey Dickerson, who has six HR and 11 RBI while hitting .304. Steven Souza Jr. is adding four homers and 19 RBI.
Both pitchers are coming off decent outings and they should be able to build on those against two lineups that aren’t exactly lighting the world on fire. Kansas City won’t be able to do much at the plate once again and I see the Tampa lineup struggling to do much against Karns. Both bullpens have been pretty good as well, so look for the run total in this game to be kept low.
