Mariners vs. Twins Pick
Can the Seattle Mariners go on the road and pick up a win over the Minnesota Twins when the two meet up tonight at 8:10PM ET?
According to oddsmakers at BetDSI, the Twins are favored at home, as they are getting odds of -120 to win. The Mariners are listed with a money line of +100 to prevail, while the over/under total for the game has been set at 10 runs. These two have met three times this season, with the Mariners picking up two of the three games at home last week.

The pitching matchup today has Yovani Gallardo (2-6, 6.26 ERA) on the mound for Seattle to face Adalberto Mejia (1-1, 4.18) of the Twins. Gallardo has been struggling for weeks, allowing at least three runs in his last six starts. He has now given up 45 earned runs in 64.2 innings of work. He has 49 strikeouts with 30 walks and a 1.61 WHIP. Mejia has been shaky at times as well, but hasn’t given up more than three runs in any of his seven starts. He has 29 strikeouts and 17 walks over 32.1 innings. His WHIP is 1.42.
Seattle is coming off a series loss at home to Toronto and the Mariners have three losses in their last four games. Seattle is now 31-33 overall and 11-20 on the road. The Mariners are allowing 4.60 runs per game while putting up 4.67 per contest. Seattle is being led by Nelson Cruz, who has 14 home runs, 11 doubles and 46 RBI. Robinson Cano is adding 11 home runs, 11 doubles and 37 RBI.
The Twins are coming off a series win at San Francisco this weekend and they have won three of their last four games. Minnesota is now 32-27 overall and 12-18 at home. Minnesota is putting up 4.53 runs per game while allowing 4.93. Miguel Sano is leading the Twins with 15 home runs, 10 doubles and 46 RBI. Joe Mauer is hitting .283 with 12 doubles and 25 RBI.
Seattle was able to grab a few wins over the Twins last week at home, but I think things will turn around in Minnesota. Gallardo hasn’t been a pitcher that Seattle can expect good things from while Mejia has been competitive for the Twins. Being at home, I think Minnesota can give him some early run support and allow him to settle in for a strong outing.
