New York won all three games at San Francisco including Sunday afternoon’s 11-5 series finals. The Yankees led 8-0 in the sixth inning and held on from there, but did lose two more players to injury in D.J. LeMahieu and Gio Urshela. Luke Voit helped power the win as he finished 3-for-4 with a walk, two runs and two RBIs. Gleyber Torres went 2-for-4 with a home run, a walk, two runs and two RBIs. Gary Sanchez ended the contest 1-for-4 with a home run, a walk, two runs and three RBIs. Domingo German earned the win as he allowed four earned runs on five hits with four strikeouts and one walk over six innings. CC Sabathia will start tonight’s game and enters with a 1-0 record and a 2.40 ERA plus a 0.93 WHIP plus 11 strikeouts over 15 innings.
D-Backs fall in 15 innings
Arizona lost by a count of 6-5 in 15 innings Sunday evening at home against the Cubs to drop to 16-13 on the season and 5-7 at home. The Diamondbacks allowed three runs in the top of the 15th innings to break a 3-3 tie, while they could only muster two runs in the bottom half as their rally fell short. Eduardo Escobar paced the offense by going 2-for-6 with two home runs, a walk and three RBIs. Ketel Marte finished 2-for-6 with a triple, a walk and a run. Christian Walker went 2-for-5 with a double, two walks and a run. Matt Andriese took the loss in relief as he surrendered three earned runs on four hits with three strikeouts and a walk over two innings. Zack Greinke takes the hill for Arizona tonight and comes in with a 4-1 record plus a 3.72 ERA over 36 1/3 innings, posting a 0.99 WHIP with 39 strikeouts.

Sabathia has been solid in his time on the mound so far and will probably keep his squad in it, but look for Greinke to eventually outlast him and lead the Diamondbacks to a win.
