From Rotoworld: Senzatela shut out the Cardinals for eight innings to win in Coors Field on Friday. Senzatela is the NL Rookie of the Year to date, unless it’s his rotationmate Kyle Freeland. Senzatela is tied for the major league lead with seven wins, and he has a 3.19 ERA. His peripherals aren’t as impressive, but while he shouldn’t be this good going forward, there’s also little reason to think he’ll fall apart.
Mariners manager Scott Servais confirmed Saturday that James Paxton (forearm) will return from the disabled list to start against the Rockies on Wednesday. That had been the target date all along and Paxton was able to avoid any setbacks in his recovery. The left-hander has been sidelined for nearly a month due to a strained forearm. Before landing on the shelf, he registered a 1.43 ERA, 0.98 WHIP and 45/11 K/BB ratio in 37 2/3 innings across six starts.
