San Francisco Giants Fantasy Spin
Jeff Samardzija allowed four runs on nine hits over five innings in a loss to the Brewers on Sunday. Samardzija didn’t get ambushed in any one inning but gave up single runs in four of his five frames before exiting. Along with the nine hits he walked two, and struck out five. The loss was his fifth in his last six starts, dropping him to 3-6 through 14 starts this year. The right-hander will carry a 3.96 ERA and 1.28 WHIP into a divisional start Friday against the Diamondbacks.
Arizona Diamondbacks Fantasy Spin
Ketel Marte went 4-for-6 and scored a run in a loss to the Rockies on Thursday. Two of his knocks were doubles. This was the fourth consecutive game in which Marte has laced three or more hits. He has burst upon the scene with some monster fantasy numbers this year — he is slashing .305/.355/.577 with 20 home runs, 50 RBI and 51 runs scored. He doesn’t run a whole lot (just four steals) but he has been fantastic everywhere else.
