Mariners hammered

The Mariners had their brief 2-game winning streak come to an end on Tuesday by losing to the Rangers, 11-4. The Mariners are 65-49 overall and 29-25 on the road. Seattle is putting up 4.14 runs per game this year while allowing 4.30 per contest.

Marco Gonzales gets the start for the Mariners this afternoon. He is making his 23rd start of the year and comes into the game with a 12-6 record, a 3.46 ERA and a 1.15 WHIP. Gonzales has 118 strikeouts and 25 walks over 132.2 innings.

Rangers light up Seattle

The Rangers got back to hitting on Tuesday night in their 11-4 win over the Mariners. The Rangers are now 50-65 overall and 24-26 at home. Texas is putting up 4.69 runs per game this year, but allowing 5.24 per contest.

Yovanni Gallardo gets the start for the Rangers tonight. He is making his ninth start of the year and comes in with a 6-1 record, a 6.51 ERA and a 1.62 WHIP. Gallardo has pitched a total of 47.0 innings this year and has 30 strikeouts with 23 walks.

MLB Betting Trends

Seattle

The Mariners have won Gonzales’ last seven starts against AL West opponents and five of his last six starts overall.

Texas

The Rangers have won Gallardo’s last five home starts and 20 of his last 27 starts overall.

Prediction:

The Mariners got another poor outing from King Felix on Tuesday, but Gonzales has been a much more consistent pitcher this year. He pitched 6.2 strong innings against the Rangers already this year. Gallardo has been able to get wins, but he is also getting a lot of run support. I don’t think he gets the run support today with Gonzales opposing him.

The Pick: Seattle Mariners -160
