Will Tigers fall to Rangers again?
The Texas Rangers look to add to the Detroit Tigers recent losing streak when the two meet this afternoon at 1:10PM ET.
The Tigers put Mike Pelfrey on the mound today to face A.J. Griffin of the Rangers. According to oddsmakers at Bovada.lv, Texas is favored on the road in this game, as the Rangers are getting odds of -125 to win. Detroit has been given a money line of +115 to prevail, while the over/under total is listed at 9 runs.
Detroit is 14-14 on the season, 5-7 at home and 18-10 with the over. Texas is 16-14 overall, 6-9 on the road and 16-13-1 with the under. Texas opened the weekend series with a 5-1 win. The Rangers have now won six of their last seven against the Tigers and these two have hit the under in seven of their last nine meetings.

The Tigers are a mess right now. Things seemed to be going up, as they had won five straight over some bad teams, but now they have lost four straight, scoring just 8 runs in the four games. Pelfrey is on the mound today for Detroit and he has a 7.47 ERA over his last three starts. Look for Texas to take advantage of that. The Rangers shouldn’t need much run support with Griffin (3-0, 2.32 ERA) on the mound.
