Twins vs. Rangers Prediction
Is the over/under total set too high in tonight’s Twins and Rangers game at 8:05PM ET?
According to oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv, the Rangers are -125 money line favorites versus the Twins, who have odds of +115 to pull off the upset tonight in Arlington. With Phil Hughes set to face Martin Perez in the pitching matchup, the over/under currently sits at 9.5 runs.

TWINS KEY TRENDS: The Twins have won four of Hughes’ last five starts but are just 3-7 in his last 10 outings on the road. They’re also 7-1 in his last eight outings when he pitches the first game of a series but are 2-10 in his last 12 starts when they’re coming off a loss in their previous game. Minnesota has dropped five of six versus American League West opponents, too.
RANGERS KEY TRENDS: The Rangers have lost five of Perez’s last six starts and are 0-4 in his last four outings when he faces a team with a losing record. That said, they’ve won 12 of his last 16 home starts and are 11-5 in his last 16 outings when he’s coming off of four days of rest.
Bet Tonight’s Twins vs. Rangers Game
OUR PREDICTION: The over is 5-0-1 in the last six meetings between these two teams and 3-0-1 in the last four meetings in Arlington. But I’m going to buck those trends. That’s because the under is 4-0 in the Rangers’ last four games overall, is 6-0 in their last six home games, and 4-0 in their last four games versus opponents from the American League Central. On the other side, the under is 5-1 in the Twins’ last six road games and is 16-7-1 in their last 24 games coming off a loss.
