Wednesday’s game drew the attention of the nation as Rich Hill threw a no-hitter through nine innings for the Dodgers, but received no run support as the game went to the 10th inning scoreless. Josh Harrison hit a solo home run off Hill to lead off the bottom of the 10th to give the Pirates a 1-0 victory. Hill struck out 10 and allowed only the one hit, carrying a perfect game into the ninth inning until an error gave Pittsburgh its first baserunner. Trevor Williams threw eight shutout innings, while Juan Nicasio picked up the win in relief. Corey Seager had three hits for the Dodgers.
The Dodgers are going to be kicking themselves for a while over letting Hill’s no-hitter turn into a loss. This is a team that very rarely loses two games in a row and here isn’t the spot for it to happen. Expect a rebound.
