Mariners vs. Nationals Prediction
Will the Nationals beat the Mariners tonight at 7:05PM ET when the teams open a new series in D.C.?
According to oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv, The Nationals are -150 money line favorites versus the Mariners, who have odds of +135 to pull off the upset in Washington tonight. With Christian Bergman set to face Joe Ross in the pitching matchup, the over/under currently sits at 9 runs.
Bet Tonight’s Mariners vs. Nationals Game
Bergman shut out the A’s for 7 1/3 innings and struck out nine to pick up his first win for the Mariners on Wednesday. Bergman picked up his first win as a starter since going 3-5 with a 5.93 ERA in 10 starts as a rookie for the Rockies in 2014. We wouldn’t read a whole lot into it, given the opponent tonight. Bergman earned himself another start tonight, but he has a better chance of contributing in middle relief than he does in the rotation. (Rotoworld)
The Nationals are calling up right-hander Joe Ross to start Tuesday against the Mariners. Ross was surprisingly optioned to Triple-A Syracuse earlier this month, but his stint in the minors didn’t last long. While he posted a 5.50 ERA over three starts in Triple-A, he threw seven innings of one-run ball with six strikeouts and one walk in his most recent outing. The 22-year-old had a 7.47 ERA over three starts prior to his demotion.
