ROCKIES KEY TRENDS: The Rockies have won five of their last seven games on the road and are 5-2 in their last seven games when their opponent allows five runs or more in its previous game. That said, they’re just 5-14 in their last 19 games following a win and are 1-4 in their last five games versus a right-handed starter.
GIANTS KEY TRENDS: The Giants have lost all four of Samardzija’s last four starts at home and all four of his last four starts overall. They’re also 1-4 in his last five starts when he pitches against the National League West and are 0-6 in his last six starts when faces a team with a winning record.
Bet Today’s Rockies vs. Giants Game
OUR PICK: Samardzija will rack up plenty of strikeouts today but he enters Sunday with a 6.75 ERA and a 1.73 WHIP over just 12 innings of work. The Diamondbacks did some damage against him in both of his starts and I expect the Rockies to do the same. The Giants just haven’t been successful winning games that Samardzija starts, making the Rockies a good underdog play this afternoon.
