D-Backs 2017 Win Total Prediction
After winning only 69 games last season, will the Diamondbacks draw closer to 80 wins in 2017?
According to oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv, the Diamondbacks’ win total for the 2017 MLB season currently sits at 78.5. Given how the club only won 69 games in 2016, that total seems high, although the Diamondbacks were a chic pick to make a run last season before injuries and their pitching staff ruined their year.

The Diamondbacks are also listed among the long shots to win the World Series as well. They have 120/1 odds to win the Fall Classic in 2017, which are the same odds as the Minnesota Twins, Philadelphia Phillies and San Diego Padres. The Diamondbacks are also 60/1 long shots to win the NL pennant this season, which are the same odds as the Phillies and Padres.
TEAM WIN TOTAL PREDICTION: The Diamondbacks should see improvements from their pitching staff but the losses of Jean Segura and Welington Castillo will hurt the offense. Of course, getting a healthy A.J. Pollock back from an injury-riddled 2016 will help, and the lineup is still full of dangerous hitters like Paul Goldschmidt and Yasmany Tomas. If Zack Greinke and rebound after an inconsistent first year in the desert, and Shelby Miller isn’t the disaster he was in his first season with the Diamondbacks, Arizona will win more than 69 games this season.
