AAA Texas 500 Predictions
The 2019 NASCAR Monster Energy Cup Series is winding down with just three races remaining. Up next is the AAA Texas 500. Here’s three drivers we like for today’s race.
According to the latest oddsmakers, Kyle Busch and Martin Truex Jr. are co-favorites, as each has +470 odds to win. Other short odds to win are Denny Hamlin and Kyle Larson, who each have +650 odds to prevail. The AAA Texas 500 is set to take place today at 3PM from Texas Motor Speedway in Fort Worth, Texas.
Kyle Busch +470
Busch is a three-time winner at Texas in his career and he has the top driver rating of any of the playoff drivers remaining. He carries a 102.2 rating at Texas. It’s now do-or-die time for a lot of drivers, as the field cuts down to four remaining drivers at the end of next week’s race. Busch is currently third in the standings and can’t flirt with a bad outing today. He can assure a spot in the championship race with a win and I think he gets its today.
Kevin Harvick +700
It’s hard to go against the back-to-back champion of this race. This has been a big race for him, as he has won the last two years and locked him self into the championship race. Harvick can do the same today and he needs to have a good showing considering he is currently in fifth in the point standings. He has an average finish of 10.7 at the track and a driver rating of 95.9 in Texas. I expect him to be a top contender again today.
Chase Elliott +700
Elliott is in a real tough spot. He is currently in eighth place in the standings, so he really needs a drastic turnaround over the next two weeks, or he needs to win today or next week. Elliott has raced at Texas seven times in his career and he has an average finish of 8.0 there. While he hasn’t grabbed a win, Elliott has a driver rating of 97.3 at the track. I think he will have another solid showing today and be willing to make those aggressive moves to get a win.
