Consumers Energy 400 Predictions
The NASCAR Monster Energy Cup Series waves the green flag for the Consumers Energy 400 later this afternoon. Here’s the drivers we like to contend for this race.
According to the latest oddsmakers, Kevin Harvick is favored this week, as he is getting odds of +275 to win. Other short odds to prevail are Kyle Busch (+325), Martin Truex Jr. (+325) and Kyle Larson (+700). The Consumers Energy 400 takes place today at 2:30PM ET from Michigan International Speedway in Brooklyn, Michigan and will air live on the NBC Sports Network.
54026 Kyle Larson +700
Larson is the two-time defending winner of this race and a three-time winner at Michigan in his short career. Larson has competed at MIS just nine times in his career and he has a driver rating of 99.0 at this track. Given he is winless this year, Larson knows this is his best chance to grab a win before the postseason and improve his chances in the Chase. I like Larson to really be a top driver today.
54006 Chase Elliott +1000
Elliott is coming off a big win last week and now he heads to Michigan, which has been a favorable track for him. Over five races in his career at MIS, Elliott has an average finish of 4.6 and a driver rating of 108.9. The driver rating is best of any driver in the field today. While Elliott has yet to win, he is always putting himself in the mix. I see him doing the same today and possibly stealing the race in the closing laps.
54017 Joey Logano +2000
Logano is a two-time winner at MIS and a three-time pole sitter. Michigan has proven to be one of the better tracks for him throughout his career. His 96.6 driver rating at MIS ranks amongst the best in the field today. Logano already has a win, but 2018 has been somewhat of a disappointing season for him. Logano can given himself a nice boost and some needed momentum with a win today.
