Daytona 500 Favorites
Of the drivers with the shortest odds to win today’s Daytona 500, which ones can you feel best about wagering on?
According to the latest oddsmakers, Kyle Busch is the favorite to win this race, as he is getting 8/1 odds. Other short odds to win are Denny Hamlin (9/1), Joey Logano (10/1) and Brad Keselowski (11/1). The 2020 Daytona 500 takes place on Sunday, Feb. 16 from Daytona International Speedway in Daytona Beach, Florida.
51231 Denny Hamlin 9/1
Hamlin has the second-shortest odds today, but I think he has the best numbers to support a win. Hamlin will start 21st, but that shouldn’t concern you too much. He can easily move up the standings throughout this long race. Hamlin is a two-time winner of this race, including the defending champion. He also owns eight wins at Daytona over his career. His average finish (17.3) and driver rating (87.8) at Daytona both rank in the top five. You have to like his consistency and ability to stay out of the big wreck at this track.
51204 Joey Logano 10/1
Logano has had a nose for the finish line at Daytona. He won the 2015 race and has finished sixth or better the last four years since then. Over his career, Logano has picked up three wins at Daytona and his average finish (17.4) and driver rating (87.0) at the track put him in the top five in the field for both categories. Again, with short odds you want consistency and Logano has been able to show that in this race.
51201 Kevin Harvick 14/1
Harvick isn’t this far down the short odds list often, so I think he brings good value today. There’s definitely reasons he is listed at 14/1, as he has finished outside the top 20 the last three years. However, he won the 2007 race and was second in 2015 and 2009. Harvick has a total of seven wins at Daytona over his career and ranks seventh in the field in average finish (18.5) and driver rating (83.2). I like Harvick to push for the win today and do so with some very beneficial odds.
