Pocono 400 Predictions
The 2019 NASCAR Monster Energy Series heads to the familiar track of Pocono Raceway today for the running of the Pocono 400. Here’s some drivers we like to contend for the win today.
According to the latest oddsmakers, Kyle Busch is the favorite tonight with +275 odds. Other short odds to win are Kevin Harvick (+475), Martin Truex Jr. (+600) and Brad Keselowski (+700). The Pocono 400 is set to take place today at 2PM ET from Pocono Raceway in Long Pond, Pennsylvania.
52203 Martin Truex Jr. +600
Truex Jr. is a two-time winner of this race and things have been going pretty well for him as of late. He has won three of the last five races and seems to be in a nice groove right now, looking like he did during his championship season. Now he comes to a track where he has been able to perform very well. Though his driver rating at Pocono is just 87.1, that’s more reflective of the struggles he had early in his career. I like Truex Jr. to continue his strong string of races today.
52207 Denny Hamlin +1200
Hamlin is a two-time winner of this race and a four-time winner at Pocono throughout his career. He comes into today’s race with a 104.0 driver rating at Pocono, which is tops of anyone in the field. Hamlin started the year pretty strong, but has finished outside the top 15 in four straight races. He needs a bounce-back effort today and this is a perfect track for that to happen.
52211 Kurt Busch +2000
If you are looking for a little longer odds tonight, Busch is a nice option. He is a three-time winner at Pocono in his career and the 2016 winner of this race. His driver rating at this track is 102.8, which ranks third in today’s field. Busch hasn’t picked up a win this year, but he has three top-5 finishes and eight top-10 finishes. Busch is driving well enough to be in the mix most weeks, he just needs a strong race in the pits to really finish one out front. Busch can definitely get the win today and is among the top contenders, in my opinion.
