Logano wins third striaght

The CampingWorld.com 500 had a chaotic ending, but it was Joey Logano that was rewarded a win under caution, just edging Dale Earnhardt Jr. when the flag came out.

View Current NASCAR Odds

The race came down to a green-white-checkered finished that failed to work the first time, as a wreck happened on the restart before the green flag dropped. On the second attempt, the caution flag came out just moments after the leaders passed the start line, which forced the race to be called to a finish. NASCAR checked the tapes numerous times and felt Logano was just ahead of Earnhardt Jr. when the caution came out. A win for Earnhardt Jr. would have advanced him to the final 8 of the Chase, but because Logano won, Earnhardt Jr. was eliminated from the postseason.

According to oddsmakers, Logano had 12/1 odds to win Sunday’s race, which means that a $100 wager on him to prevail will pay out an additional $1,200.

Logano won all three races in the second stage of the Chase. However, the points now reset with the final 8 all tied for the lead. Earnhardt Jr., Matt Kenseth, Denny Hamlin and Ryan Newman were the four drivers eliminated from the Chase.
