U.S. Cellular 250 Picks
The NASCAR Xfinity Series is back to competition today when drivers compete in the U.S. Cellular 250 in Iowa. Here are the drivers we like to contend for the win.
According to the latest oddsmakers, William Byron is favored to win this race, as he is getting 2/1 odds to win. Other short odds to win are Sam Hornish Jr. (4/1), Elliott Sadler (5/1) and Justin Allgaier (6/1). The U.S. Cellular 250 takes place today at 3:30PM ET from Iowa Speedway in Newton, Iowa.
William Byron is taking the Xfinity Series by storm right now. He has won three of the last five races on the season, including a win in Iowa weeks ago. Byron has finished in the top-3 in five of his last six races as well. He had a slow start to the year, but has really found his groove now. Expect another great run from Byron today.
Justin Allgaier has been in a funk, but I think he can snap out of it today. He has finished 30th or worse in three of his last five, but comes to an Iowa track where he had a top-10 finish earlier in the year and also finished in the top-10 twice a year ago. Allgaier has a win this year, as well as a pair of runner-up finishes, so he is capable of winning today. I like Allgaier to be a top contender.
Cole Custer is a nice dark horse option with 15/1 odds today. He is winless on the year, but has been consistent at competing in most races. He has finished in the top-10 in six of his last nine races, including a fifth-place finish at Indy. He didn’t perform well at Iowa earlier this season, but I think he can be in the lead pack if he keeps his car clean. Custer is a good driver as long as he avoids the wreck. I think he will today.
