Our NBA Live Odds page pulls spreads and totals from multiple different online sportsbooks so you can compare betting odds to ensure you’re getting the best line.
Public Betting Trends
According to oddsmakers from online sportsbook BetNow.eu, the Magic are 7.5-point favorites to beat the Cavs. The total, meanwhile, sits at 210.5 points and as of this writing, 56% of the public betting tickets wagered at online sportsbooks are on the Magic to cover the point spread.
Cleveland Cavs Fantasy Spin
Tristan Thompson (foot) will not play on Thursday against the Magic. Larry Nance (ribs) will be joining Thompson on the sidelines tonight, so Kevin Love, Marquese Chriss and Ante Zizic will see the bulk of the big man minutes. There’s no telling when or if Thompson will be back this season, so he’s safe to leave on the wire in all formats.
Orlando Magic Fantasy Spin
Jonathan Isaac scored three 3-pointers en route to 13 points Wednesday, adding nine rebounds and two steals in 27 minutes. It wasn’t a great game for Isaac overall, as he shot 5-of-12 and failed to block a shot for the first time in nearly a month, but he still chipped in useful stats. He’s made multiple 3-pointers in 10 of the past 14 games and that’s been a huge leap for his potential — both in fantasy leagues and reality. “[Improving my shot] was tough, but that’s what this league is all about,” Isaac said. “I’ll continue to do that [next] summer and see where it goes.” Magic coach Steve Clifford also remarked that Isaac’s “shot mechanics are so much more consistent.” The breakout didn’t come to fruition this year, due partly to an early-season ankle injury, but he’s still one of the more intriguing fantasy prospects for 2019-20.
NBA Betting Trends
Cleveland
The Cavs are 10-4 against the spread in their last 14 games when their opponent allows 100 points or more in their previous game.
Orlando
The Magic are winless against the spread in their last five games overall.
Prediction
The Cavs beat this Magic team 107-93 on March 3rd in Cleveland, using 40 points in the fourth quarter to win going away. While that was only one game, there’s something that stood out in that loss: Orlando has limited bench production. Key reserve Terrence Ross shot just 1-for-12, including 0-for- on 3-pointers in that loss to Cleveland. Ross again went 0-f’er from 3-point range on Wednesday, missing another six shots from deep. The Cavs are doing a better job recently of spreading their offensive production with Kevin Love back from foot surgery. The Cavs have covered the number in back-to-back games, which includes a huge upset at home versus the Raptors and I like them ATS again tonight.
