Heat vs. Warriors Pick
Are the host Golden State Warriors going to cover the huge spread versus the Miami Heat Monday night at 10:30PM EST?
According to oddsmakers at Bovada.lv, the Warriors are listed as a 15-point favorite on the spread line. The over-under is set at 225 points.
Miami comes in with a 4-5 record after a 104-101 victory at the Clippers. Golden State is 7-3 following a 127-108 win at the Nuggets Saturday night, its third win in a row. The two meetings were split 1-1 straight up last year and the Heat covered the spread both times. The under went 2-0.
In the win at the Clippers, Hassan Whiteside led the way with 21 points and 17 rebounds. Tyler Johnson had 19 points and three steals off the bench. Wayne Ellington added 17 points off the bench. Miami nearly blew the entirety of a 25-point lead as it was outscored 35-15 in the fourth quarter, but ultimate the visitors held on.
Steph Curry recorded a double-double of 22 points and 11 assists plus two steals in the win at Denver. Kevin Durant had 25 points, seven rebounds and seven assists. Draymond Green added 15 points, eight assists and seven rebounds. The Warriors outscored the hosts 79-44 in the first and third quarters combined and Curry was a plus-44 in 30 minutes played.
The Heat are 4-0-1 ATS in the last five meetings and 3-0-2 ATS in the last five meetings at Golden State.
The Warriors have been smoking everyone recently and now face a Heat team that upset them on a game-winning 3-pointer by Dion Waiters in the meeting at Miami last season. Golden State won by 12 on its home floor a couple weeks earlier. This spread seems a little high even with GSW rolling. Take the points with the now-healthy Heat.
