Hornets vs. Celtics Pick
Are the Charlotte Hornets going to end the 10-game win streak of the host Boston Celtics tonight at 7:30PM ET?
According to oddsmakers at Bovada.lv, the Celtics are set as a 4-point favorite on the spread line. The over-under sits at 206 points.
Charlotte enters with a 5-6 record after a 118-113 loss at the Knicks. The Celtics are 10-2 following a 107-96 home win over the Lakers, their 10th victory in a row after starting the season 0-2. Boston went 4-0 straight up and ATS in four meetings last season. The over-under went 2-2.
The Hornets were paced by Dwight Howard as he tallied 21 points and nine rebounds at New York. Kemba Walker had 21 points, seven assists and five rebounds. Malik Monk scored 21 points off the bench. Charlotte was outscored 35-19 in the fourth quarter.
Aaron Baynes, who started in place of Al Horford (concussion protocol), led Boston with 21 points and eight rebounds in the win over LA. Kyrie Irving had 19 points, six rebounds and five assists. Marcus Morris added 18 points. The Celtics built up a 33-16 lead through one quarter and held on from there.
Charlotte is 0-4 ATS in the last four meetings. Boston is 4-0 ATS in its last four home games.
Boston is without Gordon Hayward (broken ankle), while Horford and rookie Jayson Tatum both missed the last game. Horford has been upgraded to questionable, while Tatum is also listed as questionable. If both or even one of them miss the game, Horford being most important, it would upgradei the Hornets’ chances considerably. Streaks are meant to end and we’ll ride with Charlotte here despite its recent poor history against Boston.
