Public Betting Trends
According to the latest oddsmakers, the Lakers are favored at home, as they are getting odds of -7.5 points against the Rockets. The over/under total for the contest is listed at 236.5 points. The public betting currently has 80 percent on the Lakers as the home favorite. This information is subject to change, however, so be sure to check out our NBA Public Betting Page for updated figures on the game.
Rockets win three straight at home
Houston has a three-game win streak right now, all coming at home. The Rockets are coming off a 125-110 win at Charlotte on Tuesday. Houston is now 32-18 on the season, 14-11 on the road, 24-26 against the spread and 27-23 with the under.
The Rockets are putting up 118.8 points per game on offense this year while shooting 45.2 percent from the field. Defensively, Houston is allowing 114.5 points per game while opponents shoot 45.9 percent from the field. Russell Westbrook is questionable to play today. He is dealing with a thumb injury. Westbrook is averaging 26.4 points, 8.0 rebounds and 7.4 assists per game this season. James Harden is leading the team with 35.8 points, 6.5 rebounds and 7.3 assists per contest.
Lakers bounce back
Los Angeles lost back-to-back games last week, but the Lakers have bounced back with wins over the Kings and Spurs this week. The Lakers are now 38-11 on the season, 17-6 at home, 26-22-1 against the spread and 25-24 with the over.
The Lakers are putting up 114.3 points per game on offense while shooting a league-best 48.6 percent from the field. Defensively, Los Angeles is allowing 106.8 points per game while opponents shoot 44.3 percent from the field. LeBron James is leading the team with 25.2 points, 10.7 assists and 7.7 rebounds per contest. Anthony Davis is adding 26.4 points, 9.1 rebounds and 2.4 blocks per contest.
NBA Betting Trends
Houston
The Rockets are 2-7 against the spread in their last nine road games, but 12-5 ATS in their last 17 games as an underdog.
Los Angeles
The Lakers are 0-4 against the spread in their last four games on 1 day of rest and 2-7 ATS in their last nine games against a team with a winning percentage over .600.
Prediction:
The Lakers just grabbed a 124-115 win over Houston a few weeks ago on the road. The Rockets have looked pretty good at home this week, but they were beaten down by the Blazers in their last road game. LeBron and Davis have the ability to really dominate a game and the Lakers seem much more together than the Rockets. Houston just traded away Clint Capela and I think their lack of bodies in the paint are going to have them get overwhelmed by Davis.
NBA Prediction: Los Angeles Lakers -7.5
